- Introduction: Livestock farming in Central Asia is a cornerstone of rural livelihoods and food security. However, the sector faces challenges such as high methane emissions, outdated practices, and limited access to sustainable technologies. Methane is one of greenhouse gases with a much higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide over a shorter time-period. This webinar is aimed to address the pressing challenge of reducing methane emissions in livestock farming globally, and particularly in Central Asia, the ways of solution with best practices and success cases. Objectives
- Provide an overview of methane emissions issues globally and regionally, with insights on potential solutions.
- Highlight region-specific challenges and opportunities in Central Asia’s livestock farming systems in methane mitigation.
